Riyal (Silver, 26 mm, 10.33 g, 9 h), type C, Yazd (Dār al-‘ibāda), 1231 = AD 1815/6. al-sulṭān ibn al-sulṭān Fatḥ ‘Alī Shāh Qājār (‘The sultan, son of the sultan, Fath ‘Ali Shah Qajar’ in Persian). Rev. Within a pearl circle, with clusters of pellets in the fields: zarb-i dār al-‘ibāda-yi Yazd (‘Struck at the abode of worship, Yazd’ in Persian). Dated 1231 at the bottom. Album 2880. Lightly toned. Minor deposits and marks, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

From the Joseph Markowitz Collection (1897-1981), brought to Israel in 1949 and kept in the family ever since.
