Within a complex hexagram, arranged in a scattered manner, ‘bism Allāh al-raḥmān al-raḥīm lā ilāha illā Allāh Muḥammad rasūl Allāh ʿAlī walī Allāh’ (‘In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. There is no deity but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah’); around, ‘ḍuriba / bi Ṣaʿda / sana i/thnayn wa / sabʿīn wa / sitta miʾa’ (‘Struck in Saʿda in the year 672’ in Arabic). Rev. Citing his father, Imam ʿAbd Allah ibn Hamza (AH 583-614 / AD 1187-1217), within a complex hexagram, arranged in a scattered manner, ‘al-imām al-Manṣūr billāh amīr al-muʾminīn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ḥamza ibn Sulaymān’ (‘Imam al-Mansur billah ʿAbd Allah son of Hamza son of Sulayman, Commander of the Believers’ in Arabic); in the margin, ‘al-Muntaṣir / billāh / Dāwū/d wa/lī / ʿahdihī’ (‘al-Muntasir billah Da’ud, his successor to the covenant (i.e., heir)’ in Arabic).
