IMP C MAXIMIANVS P AVG Radiate bust of Maximianus to left, in the guise of Hercules, holding club over his right shoulder and wearing lion skin over his left, and with balteus across his chest. Rev. VIRTVTI AVGG Hercules standing front, head to right, placing his right hand on his hip and resting his left on club set on rock; lion skin draped over his left arm; in field to left, S. Bastien 202. Cohen 659. RIC 465. Rare and with a wonderful heroic portrait. Struck from a slightly worn reverse die, otherwise, extremely fine.
