IMP C MAXIMIANVS P AVG Radiate and cuirassed bust of Maximian to right, holding spear in his right hand and shield with his left. Rev. HERCVLI PACIFERO / SML Hercules standing front, head to left, holding olive branch in his right hand and club in his left; lion skin draped over his left arm; in field to left, B. Bastien 126 (one example recorded). Bastien Supp. I -. Bastien Supp. II -. Cohen -. RIC -. Of the highest rarity, apparently the second known example with this highly unusual bust type. Struck from slightly worn dies and with very minor traces of corrosion, otherwise, about extremely fine.
