IONIA. Magnesia ad Maeandrum. Circa 155-145 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.71 g, 12 h), Erasippos, son of Aristeos, magistrate. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis to right, with bow and quiver over her shoulder. Rev. MAΓNHTΩN - EPAΣIΠΠOΣ / APIΣTEOY Apollo standing left on maeander pattern, holding filleted laurel branch in his lowered right hand and leaning his left elbow on a tall tripod behind him; all within laurel wreath. BMC 37. Ellis-Evans, Wreathed Tetradrachms, 212 (O.28/R.EA6). Jones dies 26/a. SNG Hunterian 428 (same dies). SNG von Aulock 2042. A sharply struck example of fine style with lovely iridescent toning. Thin die break on the obverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
