A beautifully toned drachm from Tarentum with a lovely owl

CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 280-272 BC. Drachm (Silver, 15 mm, 3.22 g, 3 h), Sos... and Dio..., magistrates. Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with Skylla hurling a stone on the bowl. Rev. ΤΑΡANTINΩN Owl with wings spread standing right on thunderbolt, head facing; below, [ΔΙΟ]; to right, [ΣΩ]Σ. HN Italy 1018. SNG ANS 1320. Vlasto 1077-83. Nicely toned and with a fine owl. Struck on a slightly short flan and with light deposits, otherwise, extremely fine.
