Octavian, 44-27 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.33 g, 5 h), a contemporary plated imitation. Irregular mint, after autumn 31-summer 30. Winged bust of Victory to right. Rev. CAESAR - DIVI•F Octavian, nude but for cloak and parazonium hanging from his side, standing left, right foot set on large globe, holding aplustre in his right hand and long scepter in his left. Cf. BMC 615, Cohen 60, CRI 409 and RIC 256 (for prototype). A lovely imitation fine style. Minor breaks in plating, otherwise, very fine.
