Man. Aemilius Lepidus, 114-113 BC. Denarius (Subaeratus, 18 mm, 3.14 g, 3 h), a contemporary plated imitation. Irregular mint. Laureate and draped bust of Roma to right; behind, ✱ (mark of value). Rev. MN•AEMILIO• Equestrian statue to right on pedestal with three arches; between the arches, L-E-P. Cf. Babelon (Aemilia) 7, Crawford 291/1, RBW 1124 and Sydenham 554 (for prototype). Beautifully toned and very well preserved for a plated imitation. Good very fine.
