LOWER DANUBE. Geto-Dacians. 1st century BC. Denarius (Subaeratus, 18 mm, 3.70 g, 9 h), imitating Roman Republican denarii of M. Herennius (108-107 BC) and C. Naevius Balbus (79 BC). PIETAS Head of Pietas to right, wearing diadem, pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. Victory driving fast triga to right; below, imitative legend. Cf. Crawford 308/1 (for possible prototype of obverse) and 382/1 (for possible prototype of reverse). Minor marks and the reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.
