LOWER DANUBE. Geto-Dacians. 1st century BC. Denarius (Subaeratus, 20 mm, 2.56 g, 3 h), imitating a Roman Republican denarius of L. Flaminius Chilo (109-108 BC). Head of Roma to right, wearing crested and winged helmet; to left and right, X. Rev. L•FLAWINI / CILO Victory driving biga to right, holding wreath in her right hand and reins in her left. Cf. Crawford 350A/1 (for possible prototype of obverse) and 302/1 (for possible prototype of reverse). Some deposits and breaks in plating, otherwise, nearly very fine.
