Lot 3304
Seljuks. Great Seljuk. Jalal al-Dawlah Malikshah I (?), AH 465-485 / AD 1072-1092. Fals (Bronze, 19 mm, 3.89 g, 6 h), Armenian style, Dvin (in Armenia). Geometric and floral(?) designs. Rev. Illegible legends in Arabic in the center. Apparently unpublished. Halved, otherwise, good fine.

The design of the obverse of this enigmatic coin is comparable to that of the exceedingly rare Fals of Dvin issued under Rukn al-Din Masʿud I, AH 510–551 / AD 1116–1156 (Akopyan Dvin, pl. III, 19). Unfortunately, the legends on the present specimen cannot currently be deciphered.
