PHOENICIA. Tyre. 126/5 BC-AD 65/6. Shekel (Silver, 27 mm, 14.11 g, 12 h), CY 19 = 108/7 BC. Laureate head of Melkart to right, lion skin tied around neck. Rev. TYPOY IEPAΣ KAI AΣYΛOY Eagle standing left on prow, wings closed and with palm frond behind; to left, ΘΙ (date) above club; to right, monogram; between the eagle's legs, 𐤁 (B in Punic). BMC 86. DCA Tyre 40. HGC 10, 357. Nicely toned and very well centered, a lovely example. Light marks and with very minor roughness on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
