Tetricus II, Romano-Gallic Emperor, 273-274. Antoninianus (Bronze, 19 mm, 2.57 g, 10 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Treveri, irregular mint, after 273. C PIV ESV TET[RICVS] CAES Radiate and draped bust of Tetricus II to right, seen from behind. Rev. PIETAS AVGVSIↃD Sprinkler, simpulum, jug, knife and lituus. Cf. AGK (corr.) 5b, Cunetio 2597, Elmer 778 and RIC V.4 773 (for prototype). Beautifully preserved and fresh, an intriguing imitation. Minor areas of weakness, otherwise, good very fine.
