Tetricus I, Romano-Gallic Emperor, 271-274. Antoninianus (Bronze, 17 mm, 1.52 g, 5 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Treveri, irregular mint, after 273. IMP TETRICVS P F AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Tetricus I to right. Rev. SPES PVBLICA Spes advancing left, holding flower in her right hand and raising skirt with her left. Cf. AGK (corr.) 12e, Cunetio 2611, Elmer 764 and RIC V.4 783(for prototype). Attractive brown patina and with a particularly impressive bearded portrait. Struck from a somewhat worn reverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
