A beautifully toned stater from Olympia

ELIS. Olympia. 82nd Olympiad, 452 BC. Stater (Silver, 22 mm, 12.23 g, 3 h). Eagle flying to right with wings above and below, grasping a coiling snake with his beak. Rev. F-A Thunderbolt with volutes above and wings below; all within round incuse. BCD Olympia 28 var. (reverse). Seltman 48 (AG/αρ). Very rare. Beautifully toned and of vigorous early Classical style. Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die and with the usual small countermarks, otherwise, very fine.
