AEOLIS. Kyme. Circa 170-151. Tetradrachm (Silver, 36 mm, 16.52 g, 1 h), posthumous issue in the name and types of Alexander III 'the Great' of Macedon, Hermon, magistrate. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, one-handled jug within wreath; in exergue, EPMΩ[Ν]. Price 1644. Rare. Beautifully toned. Minor traces of corrosion on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
