The legend ΝΑΓΙΔΙΚΟΝ is the neuter singular of the adjective Ναγιδικός ('Nagidian,' or 'belonging to Nagidos') and is used elliptically in the sense of 'a Nagidian coin.' Such an adjectival form of the ethnic is highly unusual on Greek coinage. Normally, the ethnic appears in the genitive plural, referring to the civic community responsible for the issue; at Nagidos, the expected form is ΝΑΓΙΔΕΩΝ (cf. lot 221 above).
