Radiate and cuirassed bust of Tetricus I to right; around, blundered legend. Rev. Female figure standing front, head to left, holding indistinct objects in her hands; around, blundered legend. A beautiful piece struck on a full flan and with a lovely reverse. Minor weakness on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
While the die engraver still made some effort to imitate the inscription of the originals on the obverse - several letters of the Latin alphabet, including C, P, I, E, T, and S, can still be recognized, albeit in some cases reversed - he seems to have given up entirely on the reverse, adding only a random assortment of fanciful letters. More care, however, was devoted to the preparation of the flan: at 19 mm, the piece ranks among the largest contemporary imitations of coins of the Gallic Empire in terms of diameter.
