C. Antius C.f. Restio, 47 BC. Denarius (Subaeratus, 19 mm, 3.17 g, 4 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Rome, irregular mint. RESTIO Bare head of the tribune C. Antius Restio to right. Rev. C•ANTIVS•C•F Hercules advancing to right with lion's skin over his left arm, holding club in his right hand and trophy in his left. Cf. Babelon (Antia) 1, Crawford 455/1a, CRI 34, RBW 1593 and Sydenham 970 (for prototype). The obverse struck somewhat off center and with breaks in plating, otherwise, very fine.
