SELEUKID KINGS. Antiochos Hierax, circa 242-227 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 4.32 g, 12 h), uncertain mint 48, Tralleis (?). Diademed head of Antiochos II to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ANTIOXOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; to outer right, monograms. Astarte Young Collectors Auction 2 (2024), 261 (same dies). SC -, cf. 911 (same obverse die as illustration). Apparently unpublished. Flan crack and minor die rust, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.


Here we see the pronounced wear of the reverse die, which later led to its reworking so that it could remain in use (cf. lot 1713 above).
