Macrinus, 217-218. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 32 mm, 20.53 g, 12 h), Rome, summer 217-early 218. IMP CAES M OPEL SEV MACRINVS AVG Laureate and cuirassed bust of Macrinus to right. Rev. PONTIF MAX TR P COS P [P] / S - C Felicitas standing front, head to left, holding long caduceus in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left. BMC 120, note. Clay Issue 2 (this coin cited, under die combination 42). Cohen 66. RIC 139. A beautiful piece with a very attractive brown patina and an excellent 18th century pedigree. Edge split, otherwise, very fine.
