Judaica PHILISTIA. Central Mint. Athenian-styled, circa 420-350 BCE. Mʿh = Obol (Silver, 10 mm, 0.54 g, 3 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette. Rev. Janiform head composed of a bearded male head to left and a female head to right within incuse square. Gitler & Tal XIII.4Ob (this coin). Hendin -. Jeselsohn 215 (same dies). Shoshana -. Sofaer -. Very rare. Dark original toning. Slightly rough and the obverse struck a bit off center, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
