The reverse legend ΙΟΥΔΑΙΑC ΕΑΛⲰΚΥΙΑC is the Greek equivalent of the Latin IVDAEA CAPTA. In Greek, the phrase takes the form of a genitive absolute, literally meaning ‘with Judaea having been captured’, or more idiomatically, ‘after Judaea had been captured’.
