Like lot 363, the present coin belongs to the exceptionally rare Flavian Judaea Capta dupondii. It is rarer still: only two examples are known of this type, showing Victory fastening a shield to a trophy rising above the mourning figure of Judaea – one in Vienna and the present coin, which is therefore the only example in private hands.
