Judaica JUDAEA, Bar Kokhba War. 132-136 CE. Small Bronze (Bronze, 20 mm, 3.99 g, 6 h), regular coinage. Uncertain mint. Undated, but attributed to Year 3 = 134/5 CE. 𐤀𐤋𐤏𐤆𐤓 𐤄𐤊𐤅𐤄𐤍 ('Eleazar the Priest' in Paleo-Hebrew) Seven-branched palm tree with two bunches of dates. Rev. 𐤋𐤇𐤓𐤅𐤕 𐤉𐤓𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤌 ('For the Freedom of Jerusalem' in Paleo-Hebrew) Grape bunch on vine. Bromberg I 262. Hendin 6465 (same dies). Meshorer, AJC, 79 (same dies). Mildenberg 155 (O4/R4). Samel -. Shoshana I 20505 (same dies). Sofaer 164 (same dies). Attractive brown patina and with an excellent pedigree. Minor edge split and the usual die break on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
