Uncertain mint, Year 1 = 132/3 CE. 𐤔𐤌𐤏𐤅𐤍 𐤍𐤔𐤉𐤀 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 ('Šimʿon, Nasi of Israel' in Paleo-Hebrew) Seven-branched palm tree with two bunches of dates. Rev. 𐤔𐤍𐤕 𐤀𐤇𐤕 𐤋𐤂𐤀𐤋𐤕 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 ('Year 1 of the Redemption of Israel' in Paleo-Hebrew) Vine leaf on tendril. Bromberg II 567 (same reverse die). Hendin 6407. Meshorer, AJC, 5. Mildenberg 44.4 (this coin, O2/R7). Samel 2387 (same dies). Shoshana I 20240-41. Sofaer 5-12. An attractive piece with a very old pedigree. Somewhat rough and the reverse a bit weak, otherwise, very fine.
