PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Arsinoe II, wife of Ptolemy II, died 270 BC. Dekadrachm (Silver, 35 mm, 33.94 g), Alexandria, circa 253/2-250/49. Diademed and veiled bust of deified Arsinoe II with ram's horn to right, with the tip of a lotos scepter at the top of her head; to left, EE. Rev. ΑΡΣΙΝΟΗΣ ΦΙΛΑΔΕΛΦΟΥ Double cornucopiae bound with fillet and with two grape bunches hanging at sides. CPE 347. Svoronos 940 (Ptolemy III). Troxell Group III. Very rare. Thick horn silver and minor roughness and a flan crack, otherwise, very fine.
