CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 380-325 BC. Diobol (Silver, 13 mm, 1.13 g, 7 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with a hippocamp with curved wings on the bowl. Rev. TAPANTINΩN Herakles standing slightly turned to right, strangling the Nemean lion; between Herakles' legs, Α; in field to left, club and bow. HN Italy 914. Vlasto 1254-9 var. (K between Herakles' legs). Minor deposits and light marks and with some doubling on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
