KINGS OF MACEDON. Demetrios I Poliorketes, 306-283 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 4.24 g, 11 h), Thebes, circa 290. Diademed and horned head of Demetrios I to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ / ΔHMHTPIOY Poseidon, nude, standing left, his right foot set on rock, holding trident in his left hand and resting his right on his right thigh; between legs, monogram within circle. Classical Numismatic Group 120 (2022), 170. Gorny & Mosch 147 (2006), 1392 (same dies). Newell -, cf. 139 (tetradrachm) and 140 (hemidrachm). Extremely rare. Faint scratches and light graffito on the reverse, otherwise, fine.
