ISLAMIC. Circa AH 2nd-4th century / AD 8th-10th century. Seal (Lead, 17 mm, 3.94 g, 6 h), with a string hole. In three lines: Sulaymān / ibn … / Zayd (‘Sulaymān son of … Zayd’ in Arabic); Margin: … amīr al-muʾminīn ḥafiẓahū Allāh … (‘… Commander of the Faithful, may God preserve him …’ in Arabic). Rev. Arabic legend in four central lines and margin, of which only ʿashar (‘ten’ in Arabic) is clearly legible. A well-preserved and attractive Islamic seal with clear personal attribution and a well-structured multi-line inscription. Earthen deposits, otherwise, about extremely fine.
