Nimbate bust of Christ facing, raising his right hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels, flanked by IC - XC and M - M. Rev. +MANOVHΛ ΔЄCPOTHC O ΠΑΛЄΟΛΟΓOC / ΘV XAPITI BACIΛЄVC TON POMЄON (or similar) Bust of emperor facing, bearded and nimbate, wearing crown with pendilia and scalloped tippet, in a double circle of legend; to left and right, pellet. DOC 1398-400. LBC 905. PCPC 332.4. SB 2549. Nicely toned. Some areas of weakness and with light deposits, otherwise, very fine.
