KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 12 mm, 2.00 g, 12 h), Amathos on Cyprus, struck under Androkles, circa 325-323. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. [AΛ]EΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, eagle flying left; by Zeus' feet, Cypriote letter 𐠗 (?) (MO in Cypriote Syllabary). Price -, cf. 3089 var. (no letter). An apparently unpublished variety of an extremely rare issue. Somewhat rough, otherwise, good very fine.
