Caracalla, 198-217. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 3.00 g, 12 h), Rome, 203. ANTONINVS PIVS AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Caracalla to right, seen from behind. Rev. INDVLGENTIA AVGG / IN CARTH Dea Caelestis, holding thunderbolt in her right hand and scepter in her left, seated facing on lion leaping to right; to left, rock from which water flows. BMC 280 note. Cohen -. RIC -, cf. 130b (aureus). A very rare bust variety. Struck from a slightly worn reverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
