Octavian, 44-27 BC. Quinarius (Silver, 13 mm, 1.76 g, 12 h), uncertain mint in Italy (Brundisium or Rome?), 29-27. CA[ESAR] IMP•VII Bare head of Octavian to right. Rev. ASIA / RECEPTA Victory standing front on cista mistica, head to left, holding wreath in her right hand and palm frond in her left, flanked by two interlaced snakes with heads erect. BMC 647. CRI 429. Cohen 14. King 1. RIC 276. Lightly toned and with a fine portrait, an unusually attractive example of this difficult issue. Banker's marks on the obverse and with a minor scrape on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
