PONTUS. Amasia. Antoninus Pius, 138-161. Pentassarion (Bronze, 35 mm, 25.80 g, 6 h), CY 156 = 153/4. ΑΥ ΚΑΙ Τ ΑΙ ΑΔΡΙ ΑΝΤⲰΝЄΙΝΟС Laureate head of Antoninus Pius to right. Rev. ΑΜΑϹ[ΙΑϹ Μ ΚΑΙ ΠΡΩ ΤΟΥ Π]ΟΝΤΟΥ / ЄT ΡΝζ Hades-Serapis seated left, holding scepter in his left hand and extending his right over Kerberos at his feet to left. Dalaison - (D23/R-). RPC IV.3 online -, cf. 5297 (differing legends). An apparently unpublished variety. The reverse struck from a somewhat worn die and with minor traces of corrosion, otherwise, very fine.
