This medal was formerly attributed to the Nuremberg medalist J. T. Stettner (1785–1872). However, the previously unresolved signature ‘ET’ on the obverse does not correspond to Stettner’s known signatures. Both the subject matter and the style of execution instead point to a Silesian medallist.
