The Battle of Blenheim (Zweite Schlacht bei Höchstädt), fought on 13 August 1704, was a key turning point in the War of the Spanish Succession. Allied forces led by the Duke of Marlborough and Prince Eugene of Savoy confronted the French and Bavarian armies near Blenheim in Bavaria. Despite facing well-prepared defenses, the Allies achieved a decisive victory, destroying much of the enemy’s forces and halting French expansion in Europe. The triumph boosted Marlborough’s fame as a brilliant commander and shifted the momentum of the war, showing how strategy, coordination, and discipline could overcome even strong, entrenched opponents.
