Ottoman Empire. Mehmed V Rashad, AH 1327-1336 / AD 1909-1918. 10 Qirsh AH 1327, RY 6 = AH 1332 / AD 1913/4 (Silver, 33 mm, 14.05 g, 12 h), Misr (Cairo). Ṭughrā of Meḥmed V within wreath; floral sprays to right; above, seven stars; below, 10sh (10 qirsh). Below, crossed quivers containing the mintmark H. Rev. Regnal Year, mint name, and accession year within wreath. 6 / ḍuriba fī Miṣr / 1327 (‘Year 6; struck in Miṣr; year 1327’ in Arabic). KM 309. MHC 185. TBM EG21. A lustrous and well-preserved example with clear mintmark and sharp details. Very minor marks, otherwise, virtually as struck.

A particularly interesting feature of this issue is the small 'H' mintmark placed within the crossed quivers on the obverse, indicating production by Heaton and Sons (Birmingham). During the late Ottoman period, large quantities of Egyptian coinage were struck abroad, especially in Britain.
