Pashiz (Bronze, 24 mm, 0.82 g, 11 h), Arab-Sasanian type, citing Farrukhzad (AH 75-79 / AD 695-699), overstruck on an earlier issue, Kawād-Xwarrah. Draped Sasanian-style bust to right, wearing an elaborate crown; behind head, ‘GDE / ʾp̄zwt’ (‘[may his] glory increase’ in Pahlavi); before head, ‘plhwzʾt’ = ‘Farroxzād’ (‘Farrukhzad’ in Pahlavi). Rev. Warrior standing to right, holding a spear; to left and right, ‘ʾp̄ʾt – kwʾt GDE’ = ‘ābād Kawād-Xwarrah’ (‘Prosperous Kawād-Xwarrah’ in Pahlavi). Gyselen 109. Rare and very well struck for this type. Traces of overstriking and some deposits, otherwise, good very fine.
