MACEDON. Skione. Circa 480-454/3 BC. Tetrobol (Silver, 13 mm, 2.45 g, 11 h). Bare male head (of Protesilaos?) to right. Rev. Σ-KIΟ Archaic human eye; all within incuse square. AMNG III/2, 2. HGC 3.1, 672. SNG ANS 709. Traité I, 1634 and pl. LII, 4. Nicely toned, perfectly centered and very well struck, a lovely, unusually well preserved example. Minor marks, otherwise, about extremely fine.
