SICILY. Entella (?). Punic issues, circa 320/15-300 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.20 g, 12 h). Head of Tanit-Persephone to left, wearing wreath of grain leaves, triple-pendant earring and pearl necklace; in field to left, scallop-shell; around, four dolphins. Rev. 𐤏𐤌𐤌𐤇𐤍𐤕 ('MMHNT = 'People of the Camp' in Punic) Head of a horse to left; behind, palm tree with two date clusters. HGC 2, 284. Jenkins, Punic, 163 (O49/R132). SNG Copenhagen 85 (same dies). SNG Fitzwilliam 1488 (same dies). Attractively toned and of lovely style, recalling the dekadrachms of Euainetos. Minor marks, otherwise, good very fine.
