P M TR P XVII IMP III COS IIII P P / S - C Mars standing front in military attire, head to left, holding Victory in his right hand and placing his left on shield set on ground; behind, spear leaning against his left arm; at his feet to left, bound captive seated left. BMC 261. Cohen 257. RIC 524a. A very attractive example with a bold portrait and a delightful apple green patina. Thin flan crack and very light doubling and with minor breaks in patina on the edge, otherwise, extremely fine.
