LUCANIA. Thourioi. Circa 443-400 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 7.79 g, 2 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested and laureate Attic helmet. Rev. ΘΟΥΡΙΩN Bull butting right; in field to upper right, E; in exergue, fish to left. HN Italy 1761. SNG ANS 891-4. SNG Ashmolean 878-9. Very well centered and with a lovely and unusual head of Athena. Minor roughness, otherwise, good very fine.
