Hadrian, 117-138. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.42 g, 6 h), Rome, late 121-123. IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Hadrian to left, seen from behind. Rev. P M TR P COS III / SAL - AVG Salus standing front, head to left, sacrificing out of patera over altar entwined by serpent with her right hand and holding long scepter in her left. BMC -. Cohen -. RIC 566. Very rare. Nicely toned and with a fine portrait, struck in high relief. Minor deposits and with small cleaning scratches on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
