Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette; to left, monogram. Rev. AΘE Owl standing right, head facing; to left, prow to right above bunch of grapes on vine with leaf. Bopearachchi, Sophytes, Group 1A, -. HGC 12, 3. Nicolet-Pierre & Amandry 48 (same dies). SNG ANS -. Taylor, Birds, Group 2.14, 111 (A14/P26). Beautifully toned. Extremely fine.
