SELEUKID KINGS. Antiochos VI Dionysos, 144-142 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.50 g, 1 h), Apameia on the Orontes. Struck under Tryphon, SE 168 = 145/4. Radiate and diademed head of Antiochos VI to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ - ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟΥΣ / ΔΙΟΝΥΣΟΥ The Dioskouroi galloping left, each holding lance in his right hand and reins in his left; to right, TPY above monogram of HAP; below horses, ΗΞP (date); all within wreath of lily, ivy and grain leaves and ears. SMA 217 (this coin, illustrated on pl. VIII). Beautifully toned and with a lovely portrait. Minor marks and with tiny die breaks on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
