KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 14.28 g, 9 h), Amphipolis, struck under Kassander, circa 316-311. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠ-ΠΟΥ Young jockey, holding palm frond in his right hand and reins in his left, riding horse to right; below horse, aphlaston; below raised foreleg, pellet-in-Π. HGC 3.1, 988. Le Rider pl. 46, 18 (same reverse die). SNG ANS 740-6. Nicely toned and very well centered. Minor flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
