CENTRAL EUROPE. Helvetii (?). Late 2nd-early 1st century BC. 1/4 Stater (Electrum, 14 mm, 1.68 g, 3 h). Celticized laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. Celticized charioteer driving biga to left; to left, V; below, two parallel lines with pellets at each end; all within shallow circular incuse. D. F. Allen: The Philippus in Switzerland and the Rhineland, in: SNR 53 (1974), pl. 15, 188-9. DT -. Künker 326 (2019), 469 (same dies). SLM -. Very rare. Nicely toned. A few tiny scratches, otherwise, very fine.
