SICILY. Entella (?). Punic issues, circa 320/15-300 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.63 g, 2 h). Head of Tanit-Persephone to left, wearing wreath of grain leaves, triple-pendant earring and pearl necklace; around, four dolphins. Rev. 𐤏𐤌𐤌𐤇𐤍𐤕 ('MMHNT = 'People of the Camp' in Punic) Head of a horse to left; behind, palm tree with two date clusters. HGC 2, 284. Jenkins, Punic, 171 (O50/R152). SNG Ashmolean 2160 (same obverse die). SNG Fitzwilliam 1485 (same obverse die). SNG Lockett 1053 (same obverse die). Beautifully toned, sharply struck and with a wonderful head of Tanit-Persephone. Minor die break on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
