Diva Faustina Senior, died 140/1. Aureus (Gold, 19 mm, 7.04 g, 6 h), Rome, circa 146. DIVA AVG FAVSTINA Draped bust of Diva Faustina to left. Rev. CONSECRATIO Faustina I, veiled, holding long scepter in her left hand, standing front in fast quadriga, driven to left by Sol (?), who stands behind her, leaning forward to the horses. BMC 302. Calicó 1780. Cohen 167. RIC 383c. Very rare and with an excellent pedigree. Tiny marks and with a light graffito on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
